We could not wait until October 13, 2006 when finally the new Flight Simulator came out. The new highly detailed and as real as it gets Flight Simulator.
 
So after all the waiting it came to the release date and I bought it the day it came out. I rushed home to install it, I was surprised it didn't take that long to install.
 
And the I was ready I clicked on the icon and it started to load, and there it was. Firstly went to the settings page to change all the options and put all the options on Maximum Detail.
I then choose a Boeing 747 at Paris, Orly airport changed the weather to 'Real World Weather' and clicked Takeoff.
It loaded and there I was the graphics were out of this world it was so realistic, I loved it. I had bought the Deluxe Edition.
 
However I have a friend who also purchased the game but his computer is 4 years old and he can not play the game with Maximum Details and can barley play it with all options on Minimum Detail and no traffic and still his commuter freezes badly.
I would only suggest buying Flight Simulator X unless you have a new laptop or computer with all the latest hardware.
However it you have a new laptop or computer we would 100% recommend Flight Simulator X
















Converting Planes from Fs2004 to FsX

To convert a plane for Flight Simulator 2004 to Flight SImulator X is possible but not with all planes.
The newer the plane the more chance there is in converting it to work with Flight Simulator X.
Mostley the main problem is the gauges.
 
  • First download the plane
  • Unzip it into the Aeroplanes folders in Flight Simulator X
  • Delete Panel and the Sound folders and copy the Panel and Sound files from another plane back into the folder of the plane
  • Try to see if it works now

If it is still not working you will need to change the model configuration file. Again try coppying another model configuration from another plane and putting it back in the folder.

By now if it is already not working there is not much chance that it will work.
